Britain Red Flower Pin

Republicans ahead

I just saw a silly movie," The box "with Cameron Diaz. Ms. Diaz is excellent. The scenario is based on a science-fiction that should be pretty good. But there was not enough to make a feature film. The idea is this: you get a box in which there is a button-pusher. If you weigh it, you receive one million dollars, but someone somewhere will die. We'll know later in the film: the instigators of this diabolical scheme do a survey on the ability of human altruism. If they are not capable of altruism, they are inevitably destined to disappear. And if the survey shows that the greatest number chose a million dollars in defiance of the life of another human being, you'd better destroy humanity without delay.

I look at what's happening in the United States. Municipalities have no money for lighting streets and fund their libraries. States reduce the school calendar because they have more money to pay teachers. Police are laid off. And everywhere, the followers of the "Tea Party recruit tax payers who are angry that the various governments are seeking too much money in their pockets. Altruism primary in a democracy is to properly fund the state that gives you basic services. For example, you pay for school even if you do not have children, or you pay for the F-18 even if you hate the military.

Americans do not share even this form of altruism. The "Tea Party" has the wind in your sails. The Republicans will regain control of the House of Representatives with his support. Their main argument is incredible on this side of the 45th parallel: Obama is a socialist, a communist who will give to the lazy, the heartless and "béesses" the right to seek treatment at the expense of good Americans who work hard to feed their families and who already pay enough taxes. As expressions of altruism, we've seen better. Let
the American people the excuse of recession and unemployment. Say it is not the time for the middle class to pay more taxes. But again, not altruism. Republicans oppose easing on unemployment insurance. And Republicans have the wind in your sails. The unemployed and bums will vote for them!

Well, OK, the U.S. government deficit is astronomical. It should be seen. Republicans want cuts in social measures to reduce taxes payable. But the main sources of federal deficit are the cost of Bush's wars and lack revenue due to cutting taxes for the richest citizens in place by Bush. The Republicans want to continue the war (and even extend it to Iran) and they do not want to raise taxes on the rich. The poor, the misfits and the unemployed will vote for Republicans because they are tired of paying taxes that stifle cursed! They prefer to be in solidarity with the millionaires who do not pay taxes. And Republicans will regain control of the House of Representatives, which will allow them to block the executive of the American state power and then blame him for doing nothing during his tenure!

This people, the American people are trying to destroy itself by lack of altruism. The absence of a basic altruism and this flight forward who claims to "Me, Myself and I" prevent U.S. citizens to develop natural solidarity with the people even if they do. The nerds we often speak of the importance of cultural factors. It's true that often, for example, is to obtain additional budgets for theatrical expression during ... But this cultural factor that feeds the American individualism, which magnifies the glory of the heroes of solidarity, which would out alone against all, this cultural factor which bathes the whole American psyche and the fortunes of a party unthinkable as the Republican Party of the United States of America, has a disproportionate impact on the entire country of 300 million people who currently dominates the globe militarily.

So those who giggle when they talk about cultural factors would do well to rethink.

You say how the preceding paragraphs are true? I'm talking about Republicans, "Tea Party", the neo-cons, these monsters hated these "scumbag" in the political movement American and I put them with reason, many on the back. And when I neglect to do, they know that I forgot to do. You say how the absence of altruism bathes the American psyche?

I saw today: "Democrats Unlikely to Repeal tax cuts for The Rich " Even the Democrats, terrified of losing control of the House of Representatives are preparing to maintain the leading cause the U.S. deficit, the tax holiday granted to the wealthiest Americans by Bush in 2001 and 2003. These colossal sums of money will not finance the economic recovery nor relieve the misery of the unemployed and homeless. And the Democrats sincerely believe that this will help them get re-elected!

To return to the film "The Box", we will not need to do a survey in the United States about whether altruism is part of the dominant values of that society. And I agree with the basic statement of the film: a society without altruism will disappear. Altruism, according to some Darwinian, that is what has allowed some tribes of hominids to survive. Other tribes, those where there was no help, disappeared in the mists of time. The solitary heroes have no descendants.

Well, okay. I'm not the first to talk about the decline of American empire. And if I mention it's not that I want to decline. The crumbs that fall from the table busty are appreciated on this side of the border. Simply, it is sad to see how these people are easily manipulated by the advocates of "every man for himself." Simply, it is also sad to see how the proponents of "every man for himself" are paying the price of their creed to other peoples of our small planet.
